Thoughts

a poem by Swapna Ranjit

Rain falling on my windowpane
Calling my senses to listen
To respond, to celebrate
The gleeful dance of nature
The bubbling laughter of rain drops
The swirling winds beckoning me
To chant the mantra of love
But how can I? With my diseased mind
My consciousness demanding
A release, freedom, bliss
An unfulfilled passion poisoning
My entire being, swallowing
Devouring my sense of well-being
I wish, I wish in vain to escape
To the world of non-action
The world of detachment, forever.
