The hours I spend with you

a poem by Soumalya Kumar De

The hours I spend with you
I look upon as sort of a perfumed garden,
A dim twilight, and a fountain singing to it,
You and you alone make me feel that I am alive,
Other men, it is said have seen angels,
But I have seen thee and thou about enough.
My debt to you beloved
Is one I cannot pay?
In any coin of any kingdom,
On any reckoning day before I leave behind my soul.

When sad winter declines,
A sense of anxiety hound us,
Thus, each bird choose a mate,
To bond a relationship that is far above these all,
Materialistic world; feel the peace that lies in true love.
This day Saint Valentine’s,
For that good bishop sake,
Get up and let us see,
What beauty it shall be,
That fortune as assigns in you and me,
As love would never be a promise of a rose garden,
Unless it is showered with light of faith,
Water of sincerity and air of passion,
That makes us the perfect couple in this game of adoration.
