To Tell Someone

a poem by Siddharth

To tell someone “I love you…”
I know, is the toughest thing to do.

To take your heart out… alive, pulsating and bare,
And offer it to someone, is no little dare.

“Should I or should I not, will she or will she not…” the dilemma spares none.
Oh! So much at stake, so much to lose, still it needs to be done.

“She knows… She feels… She tells…” few are this fortunate.
Which you may be not, but how long will you wait?

Knowing each passing moment you are getting late,
Wondering, “Has destiny already sealed my fate?”

Having endured the torment, year after years
Ever bogged down with self made fears,
Here is all I have to say…

Ask yourself, if you are sure,
That the feelings within you are pure.
And if the answer comes ‘yes!!’

And you know this is true,
That nobody can love her better than you.

Nothing on the earth you should care,
Go ahead; tell her, for her own sake,
For, the loss will be her if you do not share.

Later in life when she knows of it,
Nothing will be more pity.
And you sure don’t wanna be forever guilty…
