Loneliness

a poem by Shiva Prasad M

Loneliness is moss
Gathered on the holes of discarded flute
It vibrates
Within the strings of a unused guitar
It stretches itself
Over the dry river
To the mouth of the sea.

Loneliness
Fills up all the space
Between memories
And blossoms as pain
When you walk across
Without smiling at me.

Loneliness
Is my struggle
To find a place on earth
Where you don’t exist
It’s the silence near the God’s idols
After the prayers have been repeated.

Loneliness
Is to be born
Into this world after a nine month stay
In mother’s womb
