An Orchard in my Graveyard

a poem by Rajesh J

Far up the hill
Where,
Calmness takes rest,
Lays that evergreen orchard.
Where,
Nature sheds her sweat.
The thorns, the tendrils,
The roots, the runners
Fence it, defense it.
The lilacs, the daffodils,
The bulbils, the marigolds
Spreads their fragrance
Yards away the heaven.
The pillar giants
Embrace the earth
With root clasps and props.
Those robins and sparrows
Those weavers and parrots
Arise and asleep there,
For dawns and dusks.
The bees, the butterflies,
The beetles, the worms
Live in harmony,
Live in peace.
The chipmunks, the squirrels,
The lizards, the vipers
What creativeness
The nature displays!
The winds that enjoy
The smell, the taste
Of, every flower that blooms,
Every fruit that ripe.
The snakes brood there
For years and years.
The camouflage of those
Chameleon brothers.
The melodies of those
Cuckoo sisters.
All that nature’s successive pregnancy.
The clouds roof that
Grass laden granary.
Yet,
The taste-buds of the
Homo-sapiens never reached
The lonely orchard.
For,
I am the sole owner
Of all the beauty,
For,
There lies the green orchard
Where lies my graveyard.
