A Blessing in Disguise

a poem by Nav Chandi

A love that was gone, as quick as it came;
A soul seeking answers that it already knew;
A heart that has mended, but will never be the same…
Questioning the reality that it thought to be true.

The man that lost his sight…
But his vision still remains.
The man that was once full of regret…
But now he seldom complains.

Accepting the obstacles in life, and all of its splendour;
Accepting the breath he is given to live;
Accepting the dream that is reality and the reality that is a dream;
Accepting the gift he is given to give.

Appreciating the beauty of life’s little ironies;
Embracing those he loves with an open heart and open arms;
Remembering that his spirit could heal others, as well as himself;
Remembering that his words could be his lucky charms.

For every instance in life there is a reason;
For most people we encounter, the reason is clear;
Reality is a dream that could end when we awaken…
but sometimes when we’re awake the dream may reappear.
