Diamonds

a poem by Manoj

Self luminous
Pure transparency
Burning with an inward flame
You adorned the Garden of Eden
the mythological landscapes, the buddhist paradise
and many a heaven
reflected in your dreamy glow.

Silent one, you address the vanity of woman
with that smile that comes to the one
who spent aeons listening inside earths womb.

Numinous crystal
Your brightness tremulous
dreaming the labyrinthine veins of the earth
where you slept.

Luminous mineral, you glared on the altar of the ancients
Pure contemplation
transporting them into heavens filled with stars
You magician, you inducer of trance.

When night grows old
and when the sun shines golden,
you still burn
stars on earth.
