Lonely

a poem by Leena

The darkness grew,
With each passing day,
As I kept building a wall,
Stronger with each passing day,

Doors of hope and faith closing,
With every effort failing,
Making me numb with pain,
I shut out the world in vain.

In darkest of corners,
I’ve dwelled for so long,
A few well defined path,
I’ve staggered so long.

Friendly hands now beckon me,
‘Just a step is all you need…
God’s beauty you’ll see,
caring friends you’ll meet.’

But! What beauty I wonder?
