The Free Electron

a poem by Dattatraya H Saitawdekar

The electron in the innermost orbit
Whispered in the ear of the free electron,
In the outermost orbit;

‘O friend,
When one looses the energy,
This is always the fate.
Around the centre,
Flattering, very closely,
It has to rotate.’

But,
The free electron itself,
Is still unstable,
Knocking at closed gates;
Blaming to that
Unavoidable moment
Of stimulated
And excited state.
