The Last Detour

a poem by Ayona Sur

Walking in the labyrinth of failures
the very existence had become agony,
nothing but oblivion seemed to allure,
and salvation became the salve of destiny.

Dawn till dusk hating thy bleak longevity,
yet sashaying down life’s dark alley,
in the eternal search of sparse serenity
only daylight showed the solitude valley…

Then spoke the sotto voce promotion,
to conjure thy self’s morale,
and thus began the realm of inner resurrection ,
encouraging to hang on life’s tattered sail…

Having lost every battle,
it was difficult summing up the valour
yet again spoke the sotto voce,
“Success may be waiting,
go ahead, take the last detour!”
