Doomed

a poem by Abhishek Chauhan

I chase all my pensive dreams ’cause,
reality is way to far away.
They’ll change our sun to moon,
Welcome to this place of doom.
Can’t tell the way your soul will move,
‘cause in hell its all the same.
They blew out the life in me,
their answer seems to be clear.

You’re doomed the minute your spaceship blows,
and your cries are heard by some friendly foes,
You tried with all your strength to hold,
and you still wonder who they’d take away.
The logic is which way to go,
but fate was never in your place.
The key in my hand holds a secret,
but I don’t know which way to go.
And as the dead rise over again,
I wonder if you will ever survive!

I run away form the fantasy,
like I never did before.
‘cause I know they’ll come again,
once the light will fade to shine.
And so when I step outside,
the spaceship blows apart.
Then I stare at the hanging key,
with the answer really clear.

The key in my hand holds a secret,
but I don’t know which way to go,
and as the dead rise over again,
I wonder if I’ll ever survive.

And then I wonder,
spirits they seek.
Closing on at me,
I gasp for my last breath.
I pray for a streak of light,
but all I get is black rain.
My eyes won’t close with ease,
as the last light fades away.
I’m frozen to my very bone,
with the devil staring right at me.
And then I curse myself for coming along,
in this ship meant for doom…

You’re doomed the minute your spaceship blows,
and your cries are heard by some friendly foes.
You tried with all your strength to hold.
And you wonder who they’d take away.
The logic tells me to run away,
but fate was never in my place.
The key in my hand holds a secret,
but I still don’t know what to do.
And as the dead rise over again,
I wonder if I’ll ever survive!
Then I curse myself for coming along
in this spaceship meant for doom!!
