The remembrance of our love

a poem by Mary Mathew

My beloved one, life that is in front of us
Is filled with many priceless treasures.
Whatever that is granted to me is also yours
For this life and in all the coming births.

The falling rain that touches my face
Is moistening your countenance in happiness.
The wind that hums the tune of praise
Breezes in you poetry of the calm spirits.

Each star that blinks high up the sky
Is nearby shining in the background
Of the moon, just like you and me.
For every one there is a soul mate, a friend.

The sunbeam that roams in my room
Shall remind us of the daylight in our love.
It is the beginning of love in the pure form
Blessed for a union by the Almighty above.

The river that is nearby rushing, gushing
Is like our passion in the veins quickening.
For the sunset that is gone, today will borrow
For a new beginning, a sunrise for tomorrow.

The wealth of our love lies as colossal
As the mountain that never stoops
For in it is the beauty that is unbendingly tall
And speaks voluminously of love that tops.

In the season of autumn the leaves may fall
But the spring will come again for one and all
To rejuvenate our spirits, to make for the lost time,
To appease our hearts, to take us to our youth that is prime.

So long as the nature is here with its shimmering smile,
We will remember our love and make it worthwhile.
So long as we are here, we will hold on to it that is ours,
A miracle of a bond that we share as pure as prayers.
