Life

a poem by Aishwarya

The fetters are loosening their hold,
And I am sliding into the ramifications of life,
It was to me – evasive and mystifying,
A lingering smell I ran for, my entire life,
I wonder what happened, but I know what will,
Hold me unto You, Krishna, and make me still,
I can feel now all I have occasionally felt,
The taste of the rain,
The beauty of my sky,
The truth of the wind,
The love bursting out in me,
It’s like a thousand chains just loosening their hold,
And I just falling into the hole,
Make me strong as I hold You near,
Life is beautiful when the coast is clear,
The coast of a fickle mind,
Capricious, like a stormy waterfall,
I hope I dwell in this state,
I know I am willingly locking the gates,
Gates of fear, hatred, fallacy and craze.
They could open, but I’ll lock them again,
‘Coz life is beautiful without them all,
In the greenery of the world,
Like the innocence in people,
In the blooming of a flower,
As it smiles in unfurling,
In the death of ignorance,
As we begin to look THROUGH life.
