My Wish

a poem by Yerra Praneeth

I wish I could sleep
Wake up and see the day where I can see, hear corona vaccine in the market
I wish I could see the people smiles on their faces
I wish I could see the business runs busy busy from Bombay to Bihar
I wish I could see the box office balcony counter open and free
I wish I could see the function halls open and functions happen

I wish I could see the small kids at schooling, playing, singing rhymes,
Mothers with box at their school premises
Fathers waiting in front of the school gate to take their child in the evenings

I wish I wish I could see the day where doctors drive off their Covid-19 duty
And watching Disney with their kids

I wish I could see the mask less faces near marina beach
Where people enjoy the cool breeze, the beautiful air touching their face
I wish I could see…
