a poem by Fouqia .

I want to be careless
Worry less
Smudged in multiple blurred characters
Shaping myself in the ashes of life
I want to emancipate all the self created rules
And the historically abided laws
Live the missed dreams
Unknot the knots of life
Struggle out from the shackles of ‘must’
From the ties of irony, agony and fate
Manifest my inner peace

Breach the loaded do’s and don’ts
Yes, I want to be called a revolutionary
A fearless wind
An insane being
A societal bane
For once I would be out of their ‘Acceptance’
Self creating what is to be accepted
Not by them but by my own existence
For once I would live denied yet welcomed
If not today, in the coming years
Breaking open yet bridging gaps
Between human good and ‘Good’
To be a soulful, peaceful
Confident, sacred, free woman

Woman and her struggles

a poem by Priyal Narang

Women are born with great powers,
She is a life giver and a miracle creator.
Women are very beautiful.
They are worshiped as goddesses.
They are as precious as pearls.
Yet in the end it is she who suffers all twists and turns.

A woman has the power to heal,
But all she gets for herself is so many ordeals.
Not a single day passes,
When women are not dealt with abuses.
They are molested or beaten every day,
Which breaks them from inside.
God, keep me safe today is all that they pray.
So tough is their life!

Every year we celebrate Women’s day,
But do we have the guts to say?
That there exists a small place,
In this big world,
Where women can be safe.
Where there is someone whom they can trust,
Who is not craving for lust.

All women need to be strong,
You need to overcome all fright.
Remember that you were born with might,
And you have to win this fight!

Because men will be men.
Their nature will not change.
It’s their mentality.
It’s you who need to be firm.
And show them the reality!

a poem by Nadeem Zia G

Femininity thy kind so fragile
Yet thine art so divine

Your nature sublimely so agile
For thine soul is His shrine

Thy name is embodiment of love
Yet your strength is of mighty courage

Though your tenderness is that of dove
Lest when exploited beware of your rage

Your morphing hues in life
Of a daughter, sister, wife and mother

Each full of passion and rife
Thou harbinger of life for further

I bow my head before you with humbleness
Oh thou essence of greatness

When a rape happens

a poem by Ramanujam Meganathan

When a rape happens or
When a rape is performed
Every one wakes up, gets outraged, infuriated
Finds moving phrases that affront the rapist
Leading to agitations at the India Gate and Jantar Mantar.
Everyone has a say,
Exasperations, vexations of all sorts.
President expresses his shock and displeasure.
Some popular neta says, “Boys are boys.”
Some sacrosanct puritan calls for stringent laws for women.
Dress code for women.
It is their dress which exposed their flesh
Causing the rape.
It is the raped who should take the blame.
The rapist will script stringent and austere regulations.
Hues and Cries and Cries and Hues.
We have to do something.
Meanwhile another rape.
Rape and murder follow strictly.
Blame the Chief Minister, Prime Minister
As another minister from another state rapes a teenager.
Whole country debates and discourses about law.
Commission is appointed, nationwide debates.
There seems to be change is coming.
Anti-rape law enacted.
Rapist multiplied.
It is now reported, women are courageous now.
The fucking law is working.
Law is curing the disease, not preventing it.
Why this fucking rascals indulge in rape
In this great country of traditions and God fearing rich cultured people.

a poem by Nikki

Falling from the sky carelessly,
teasing me of the infinite freedom they have,
Falling into my cage onto my stiff skin
Leaving promises of freedom that I do not have,
Behaving like a secret potion.
Compelling me to drink it to be free!
Making me feel how infinite they feel.

But then a Loud lightening struck.
Awakening me!
I looked down and realised that their fate is no better,
that everything in this world comes with a price!
That these silver droplets are now mixed into mud,
going down the drain.
And so, I slowly went to sleep again,
with hope on my mind,
cause only after a dark, cold night do you see a beautiful, warm sunrise.

Respect Women

a poem by Nitin Aniyan Thomas

This world has become so heartless
People have become really fearless
Emotions are being useless
For power and pleasure, people are becoming senseless

Rapes have become so common
Victims are always the women
Inch by inch death should be the punishment for those men
Hope our new govt acts and reacts… God knows when

Save women should be the slogan I say
Tigers can be saved some other day
Those inhuman beasts worse than those tigers should be spared… no way

Wherever I look
Whether newspaper, magazines or any book
Headlines would be molest, rape or kidnap
How long would Indian females fall in these trap
Is there no end to this shitty crap

Is being born in India as a female a curse or a crime
Its really become high time
To man handle those culprits
We have all become silent viewers and observers and all we do is discuss and sit

Action has to be taken by the officials
Teach those beasts how it feels to be in hell
Its high time to switch on the high alert bell
Ignoring these plightful sights and walking away saying all is well

Next victims could be your sister, mother or wife
Women are the ones who give us precious life
Kill those ruthless criminals with a gun, bomb or knife

Spare them, they would have the courage to repeat it again
They are not bothered of feelings, emotions or pain
All they want is pleasure whether its on the road, bus or train
Its high time to act against these kind insane
When will women be able to walk on the streets tension free without any stress or strain

When will women be able to travel on a bus, auto or train without fear
These wild beasts are out there to disrespect and tear
When will women be able to walk freely on the roads like a man
Is India capable of protecting them… just say cannot or can

Will India hear their cries
Can India bid these criminal acts permanantly a Good bye

Let women live
Love and care is what they deserve and what we should give

Respect and value them
They are the life’s root and stem
