The cry of the ocean

a poem by Faustina

Spreading vast across our hearts,
The ocean remains a collection of fine arts.

From the tiny juvenile shrimps,
To the supreme cartilaginous sharks,
Every breath under the water is valued,
And must never be to time, glued.
But then the real monsters appear,
Threatening the very existence of precious oysters.

Plastics surfing on the happy tides,
Slowly multiplying intense toxic cyanides.
Trash tubes strangulating the turtles,
Films and crates clenching sea creature’s girdles,
Puffins and gulls choking on polymer flakes

Wake up, Oh human, the ocean bed quakes.
Save this exqusitie treasure for the future
And “Say no to plastics” what so ever.
