Waiting for the Moon

a poem by Aadhyanth N Shankar

With dashing and dazzling brush in your arms
My life of blots has turned a canvas of charms
Bristles of mysterious love magical and mild
Wrestle with my innocent heart truly wild
Sprinkles of hues splatter the empty chart
They are the wrinkles ironed out of heart
Spreading wings for a fabulous fortnight
Then caging the spirit while not in sight
Flashes of brightness my canvas adorn
Splashes of tears trip from eyes forlorn
Dual life with two masks on earth I lead
Cruel is the eerie existence, so I plead
For the sky is a widow, robbed of Moon
The sky is looking for Moon to shine soon
My heart’s been aching for a Sun-like Moon
That gets never waning; I wait for the boon

Scary night

a poem by Chandramouli Eswar

Reddish eyes, moist palms, weary mind, gloomy night, not a single sight of life, everything is a sign of fearsome night
Howling Wolves’ scary sounds filling night full of fright, breakdown in a forest route, makes it muchmore fearsome plight

Blood-red moon shining bright, spilling light over trees through the darkest clouds of sky making shadows of fear everywhere on rocks
Deserted forest path in the midnight is calm and silent every side, every passing second is getting scary with the sounds of ticking clock

Raising heartbeat, profusely sweating body and those memories of childhood scary stories of grandma makes the night much more hard
Trying hard to fill courage to step out of the car to check the breakdown, finding not a nerve of dare to step from the car outward

Someone moving in the far-off sight, so white and bright appearing and disappearing into the darkness making it such a tensed night
Closing eyes and feel of pain over chest, as if someone is sitting over it, with the thought of ghost in eyes breath is going so difficult

Pain has reached pinnacles taking life out of the heart, slowly turned into death, such a painful wrath of darker forest night
Unaware of the reflections of the moon falling over the reflecting stones in the far-off sight, lost a life out of fear for the ghost

To rule over my heart

a poem by Amber Kumar

Her soft mocha skin, where glaciers slide,
her eyes with galaxies and nebulas within,
and her fingers orchestrating this heart of mine.

Her breaths like breezes adorn my rusty palace of tin,
her semblance, a canvas embedded with bubbly art fine.
The mountains and oceans are nothing but petty bumps and puddles compared to her,
for she is above all and everything,
seraphic deity, celestial delicacy,
a lady of unmatched beauty,
a girl with diamonds in her hair,
a lass with sempiternal dusk in her stare,
a fox with such tempting snares,
The only Queen to rule over my heart.

Her voice melts in my ears,
and echoes in my vessels forever.
My throat burns up with words,
words wanting to line themselves in front of her eyes.

You shall hear my pleas through the dusty winds and chirpy birds,
through shimmering leaves and crackling fires,
through chiming icicles and the clearest crystals.

For I have spoken, and I have spoken enough,
I would rather you look than hear,
for you see dear one,
we share the same sky and stars,
the same sun and moon,
that like mirrors shall reflect us from one place to another,
and I wish to see your likeness through them forever,
so cherish these few things we have in common,
for the differences are endless, and my dried up heart,
now lifeless.

Moon Flower

a poem by Shiny .

Mystic is the breeze scanting lightly turning denser now
Making me fall asleep!
No! Wait I’m the little soul falling from the sky
But where am I falling onto
Unwittingly what is my denote to be there, I’m planted on earth!

Seeing myself as petty twig now, timid bud I became afraid to open
Rain from the same sky I fell from, dabbing me gentle that day
Wooing me softly with its dribs of rain
It made me embellished blossom wearing colours!

On the morrow windstorm ragged, I stood rooted though!
Blooming wholly, I was looking inspiringly covetous
One day! Hands with loving tenderness plucked me
I was being tamed, placed next to the window!

Light unveiled the canopy of staring sky
Parching are my lips, summons thirst
A kind gale swiping my hair, to glide over my face
Am I crazy! How could that be?
Speaking to myself I said

I’m the flower from the sky verily!
Feeling that I can wade no further… my petals worn out
And that is when my heart with unsoughted smile, I opened my eyes dreamt of being A FLOWER!!

Oh Luna

a poem by Raja Anjana Kothapalli

‘Tis but a humble request of a Loner
‘Tis but a humble request of a Loner
Oh Luna, I bow as I plead with thee

Granting my wish of thick rich darkness
Oh Luna, please dim thy shimmer and shine
As I embrace him and he engulfs me, tonight

Oh Luna, we have tales to be shared
Secrets to be whispered, promises to be made
Trails to be ventured and dreams to be realized

Please cover thy eyes and ears, oh Luna
For I long to cherish my date tonight- The Dark Night
As a loner to a loner, a friend to a friend and a soul to a soul.
