Norwegian Haiku about War

a poem by Jan Oskar Hansen

On the highest mountain top
Cannon shells plough snow and
Splinter rocks.

An unreal war on the roof of the world
Where the air’s too thin to waste
On talk of peace.

Skeletons dance in ghostly mountain
Trolls are grinning madly at this
Human folly.

Triumphant generals talking tough
When on TV, happy playing
With their toys.
