Apologetic Solitary Philosopher

a poem by Brijesh C K

I see a paradise in my mind’s eye,
For me to live and experience real, highest, moralistic happiness.
But the realistic yoke of the everyday world,
Pulls me down from the high dramatic pedestal.
I wonder what is the rope that connects the real and the dream.
How did the living stream of my life get caught in the world mesh?
What is the anecdote for this universal disjointment?
Could the answer for these questions lie in the ‘connector’ of the real with the dream state,
Which is, namely, ‘the emotion of detachment’,
By not being troubled by the fangs of reality nor be lifted by the wings of the dream bird,
One can pass the course of life with ease.
