Music of Nature

a poem by Mabel Annie Chacko

The rain drops falling on the waters,
The splashing of sea,
The windy days,
The flowing of rivers,
The swirling of waters,
The flapping of wings,
The chirping of birds,
The song of the nightingale,
The croaking of the frog,
The gurgling of a little child,
The rustling of autumn leaves,
The breaking of dawn,
The panting sound after a jog in the lawn,
Bells jingling on the wheels of the ‘tonga’
Anklets trinkling
On roads short,yet longer;
These are the sounds,
Which over the years,
I have nurtured in my ears;
The ones which I term-
The music of nature.
