Yes, I love her even now

a poem by Padmini

She had smiled a smile, that lovely smile
A smile that was shy and demure
I wished I could have said those three words to her.

She had looked at me, that graceful look
A look with which my heart she took
I wished I could have said those three words
with which my lips always shook.

She had cast that spell a magic spell
And weaved a magic web with her spell
I wished I could have told those three words
with which there would be tales to tell.

This ten years which I could shared with you
I am singled out here, while you are doubled there.
With your husband there dear, with not a single tear,
I wished I could have told those three words
for there would have been no pain now dear.
