Faults of my Hardy Soul

a poem by Faisal Shamas

My heart drowns in watery nights
Before break of dawn, my sun flees away

I would seek repentance at your tomb,
Before tying my sins, my count turns away

I would have found the meaning of life
Before hearing the question, my answer turns away

I also had dreams of listening bulbul’s songs
Before doing the talks, my mask turns away

To wash away stains, I take a dip in the river
Before soothing my heart, the good deed turns away
