My Best Friend Forever

a poem by Meera

Why do you jog
The memory so
Not like I forgot
You were always a part
Of the good times
Of watching movies
Of insightful conversations
Over coffee in your kitchen
Overlooking the garden
Of endless harmonious
Analyses of complex things
No loose ends were left
Both were certain
Of our bonding
Even the wear and of tear of the long
Span of time
Did nothing to our
Genuinely sincere friendship
And all that goes
Into it.
I had said it to you
Thank you for
The enrichment, really…
Once again, I say it
Thank you for having been you
