Unknown Desires

a poem by Supratik Banik

If I wish I could fly
Beyond the edge of high
No restriction, no backward calls
I’m the only sufferer of my life’s rise and fall

If I wish I can see
Beyond the depth of mind of my enemy
Then I can think you know one step further

As for thinking about own self, now a days is more than better
As Darwin’s theory teaches us to struggle for existence
Then why should the society say selfishness is a bad habit?

If I wish I was there
During the making of the vast creature
Then maybe, I could understand the dignity of life so far
Thus, as if I wish my unknown desires may be stubborn for ever and ever.
