The Sleepless Sleep

a poem by Ammu Mathen

Eluding through the alley of slumber
I strive to induce the long lost joy

In the night, roving through the darkness
I could suffice the quests of the day

The sleepless summer naps with sticky soul
Ha… wish it could console my dazed convictions.

Under the cold rug of futile thoughts,
I can still long for those secret fantasies.

Alas! Those wakeful times! Take me back,
to the nuances of the bygone myself.

I mumble… with grief or desire?
I don’t know!!!
