As Night Slips Away

a poem by Joyce M Tripp

As I watch the night slip away
And the fingers of dawn come to light,
And the sky turns from black to a very pale blue
As night slips away

I see the dawn move across the sky in a slow moving way
As the night slips away and dawn comes a new day,
I feel a slight breeze of velvet rom the east as dawn come in to bring a new day

The stars start to fade and the sky seem to glow
And the gray of the night slips into the gold of the of the day
As the night slips away

The colors God paints in the dawn are a hue of delight as he gives us a new day
As night slips away
