Puzzled

a poem by Khushboo Sikawat

A piece here
A piece there
My life is all over the world
I gather it one by one, one city at a time

Until I travel, until I discover, I shall remain incomplete
I sit and place the found pieces together
And constantly look out for the missing
I see the stars twinkle in a city, I find a piece

Meet a stranger in another, I find one more ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I get on a plane, I get closer to my puzzle making sense
In the corners of different countries
In the aroma of different cuisines

In the crossing of borders
In the finding of home away from home
My life fits in the puzzles of others and other places
And their lives fit in mine and my country

This is how the whole world become one
And this is exactly how my puzzle gets solved
