I’m a Bridge

a poem by Isaac Inkah

I’m a bridge
A bridge you cross
In this life
Maybe once
Maybe twice
In the conversation
In the meeting, in the seeing, and in the living
A message sent in second, minute, hours, or days
A bridge between souls
A bridge between race and region
A bridge between the human divide
A biological divide
A political divide
Which we often don’t have answers

I’m a bridge to the future
The future generation
Of ideas, of things, and of genes
A connecting dot
A stepping stone
A gift to the future
I’m bridge
I’m a bridge
