Winter

a poem by Aishani Goswami

Now as the pleasant Autumn flies away,
The frost and wind spreads everywhere,
I cannot explain this chill,
For the cold Winter arises here.

People everywhere with socks and boots,
Over-size coats are the loots,
Some may get blankets from the Earth’s core
To hide from the Winter’s roar.

Having fun round the fire,
This is my first desire.
Though it is bizarre, but also fun,
With milk and hot bun.

Carrot, lettuce everywhere,
Oranges and Apples here and there.
I know there are festivals to come,
Christmas and New Year are only some.
