On a broken chair

a poem by Sam Sebastian

Sitting on a broken chair
Wish you were so near
Waiting for you I’m
Counting all the time.
Cause that’s all I can

Chanting all the prayers I know
Passing wind tells the time
Twinkling stars welcome night
And I am still waiting, waiting
On a broken chair

Shifted across the misty mountains
Sky is clear, not so near
Watching the sun kiss the waters
Wondering when you’ll be here

Counting all the time I can
Passing smile tells a lie
Why don’t you hurry the instinct?
And I am still waiting, waiting
On a broken chair

Startled to the hopeful knock
Shifting across the darkened room
Searching for the door of life
As the sun sets to rise

Changing all the views I have
Passing days tells a tale
Life is vast, got to move on
No more I will be waiting, waiting
On a broken chair
