Dried Flowers

a poem by Radhika Warrier

Dried flowers that I have saved
Precious lifeless roses that lie
Pressed against between the pages
Of books telling me my favourite stories
Given to me this natures creation
By you as a gesture of your affection
Plucked from gardens that have reared
Now after months, after their lives they have shed
Treasured they are and more beautiful
Teaching me a lesson that Life IS and never WAS.
