Birth of a Dream

a poem by Kalpana Tyagi

Wanna know my B’day?
I will give you a small hint:
Neither summer hot nor winter’s shivering,
It was a bright sunny morning with rains drizzling!
My Angel shyly nibbling her edges,
Coz in her womb she nurtured a dream.
Sky’s descending on earth:
To know if their queen was ‘paper-thin’
Angel had a little trouble and she knew anytime her dream will be there!
A little bit of labour and she was born.
My father in his cozy arms cuddled his rosy charm,
Blue was her cloth, absorbingly black her eyes,
Curly hair and chirpy smile bubbling with delight!

Sweet Dreams

a poem by Kalpana Tyagi

Dreams- waiting right there
with open arms and brazen thoughts;
hoping against hope, that someone someday will try
and unveil her mysteries…
Dream… don’t let her remain like that.
She’s a dream, don’t take her to anonymity
shadows of obscurity scare her
passions of impulse fear her
she’s a subtle thought, a mystic reality
neither insinuate nor minimise
just let her gush thru’ and feel the highs.
Hold your breath and close your eyes
try to feel her impulse and give her a place of pride.
Don’t forget that the most beautiful things in this world
are seen with closed eyes…
Sweet dreams!!!

Death of a Faith

a poem by Kalpana Tyagi

Take my life, before my faith dies!
Every time I tried to touch you, I lost.
Every time I wanted to meet you, I failed.
Every time I hoped to see you, a rout was all that I faced.
Its too much, its overwhelming.
Something inside is asking me to do things, I don’t even want to think!
Some force instigates me to revolt
A meek voice roars, till its lost in the worldly chores.
A thousand failures I will lovingly embrace,
A thousand deaths I can die,
But Lord Ram please don’t let my faith die!
Take my life before my faith dies,
Kill me if you want, Lord Ram,
But don’t give me a thousand deaths in one life!!
By letting my faith die,
Let me find peace in your eyes.
Embrace me in your arms tonight,
Let all the suspicions die,
Let the love meet her pride,
Let all suspicions perish,
Let all troubles smother and cry.
But please don’t give me another death in this lipid life,
By breaking my faith!
The faith I swear by!!

To Dearest, Dearest, Deepa Darling…

a poem by Kalpana Tyagi

I write, you understand!
I trouble, you withstand!
I fail, you fear!
I love, you cheer!
If I am stupid, you are crazy!
If I am a failure, you are lazy!
I am a flower, you are its fragrance!
I am a fool, that you say is lovable to comprehend!
For all passionate feelings, you are in my stride to complement!
When I fall, you help me stand!
Are you a lovely thought,
Or a sensuous reality!
A dream or a subtle feeling!
Deepa’s my friend, forever be like this!
A sense of deja vu for me!

Dreams… in the arms of reality…

a poem by Kalpana Tyagi

You are my MD, my thought, my dreams…
Yesterday night, at the dead of night, in a lonely land,
Beautiful mystique enmity, passionate rivalry…
Seeded deep inside our hearts, we were together,
my hair like a cascade of water,
you dreamt and were my ‘luminous moon’.
I always felt-
but fear to realize coz
dreams seldom come true.
You closed my eyes and came close,
closer…till there were no space…
just face to face and then all of a sudden…
you ‘merged’ your face into mine and it got dark,
all dark-feeling of a lifetime.
So the moment had arrived, I had been waiting for…
since ages, decades and lives…
you are my GOD, my pride, my inspiration.
Please be mine.
You are mine.
Still I want you to be mine-
be close to me,
cuddled in arms,
locked in the barricade of love.
And please,
if you truly love me,
don’t let me fly.
I want not to be freed, but tied…
