The Changes of Time

a poem by Judy Knapton

Coming of Spring
When leaves start to grow,
Grasses turn green,
Flowers will show,
A time to be born,
Birds spread their wings,
Fly high above,
The earth starts to sing.

Summers are hot,
With the sun beating down,
Freshness of life,
Will not be found,
All that was new,
Is hidden away,
Sparing their time,
Till some rainy day.

Tuning to Fall,
The air is so clear,
Branches are bare,
Long nights appear,
No sounds are heard,
A life from the past,
For a time,
Silence will last.
