Diamond

a poem by

Anushree Shah

In the party hall,
What is shining?
What is most expensive?
What is precious?
What is a delicate thing?

What is original and not worthless?
What is excellent and women’s lover?
Who is the darling of neck,
ears and fingers?
Isn’t it only DIAMOND!
