Life is a Color Palette

a poem by Anu Srinivas

Life is a Color Palette
I feel fortunate to be a part of this planet

The morning sky tempts me
Venus calling, “No one’s brighter than me”

From dark to light, the rising sun
Touching millions, yet he’s only one

The birds chirp, Dogs howl
As we wake, sleeps the owl

The days begins, I end my walk
Time for my chores, its already 6’0 clock

Kitchen, that’s my own space
I enjoy working here, at my own pace

I season to the tune of music
It’s intoxicating, when it’s a sentimental pick

I enjoy cooking, it does not burden me
Along with nature, music, a good sip of cardamom tea

Cannot imagine a world without music
I am sure, it makes me feel sick

The afternoon sun, the scorching heat
Makes it difficult to manage a pleat

I am eager to welcome the setting sun
It’s late evening, out to the balcony I run

What I see! A feast to the eyes
Believe me, it’s no lies

Life is a Color Palette
I feel fortunate to be a part of this planet
